Full Strawberry Moon (a micromoon!)

June's full moon has been called the Strawberry Moon by Algonquin peoples, timed to the ripening of wild strawberries in northeastern North America.

This one also happens to be a micromoon, which is the opposite of a supermoon. The Moon is near apogee, the farthest point in its elliptical orbit, so it appears slightly smaller and dimmer than average. The difference is subtle enough that you won't notice without a side-by-side comparison, but it's a good reminder that the Moon's distance from Earth isn't constant.

A good night for looking up and saying hi to Carroll!
