Delta Aquarids Meteor Shower Peak

A moderate meteor shower active from mid-July through late August, the Delta Aquariids kick off the summer meteor season. Under ideal dark-sky conditions, the shower can produce 15 to 20 meteors per hour, with the radiant highest around 2 a.m.

Unfortunately, this year, the full moon falls just two days before peak, meaning a nearly entirely illuminated moon will be up for much of the night and wash out the fainter meteors. Your best bet is to watch in the week before peak, when skies are darker.

If you miss it, you'll catch Delta Aquariid meteors mixed in with the Perseids in early August anyway.
